Photographing families with a baby is one of my favourite parts of this job.
Not because it’s always perfectly smooth – it isn’t.
But because it’s real.
There’s something about those early months where everything feels both overwhelming and fleeting at the same time.
And often, this is the first time a family has stepped in front of the camera since becoming a family of three, four, or more.

WHAT TO EXPECT
If you’re feeling a little unsure about how a session works with a baby, you’re not alone.
Most parents arrive wondering things like:
Will my baby settle?
What if they cry?
Do we need to rush?
The answer is simple – we don’t rush anything.
Your baby leads the session completely.
There’s time for feeding, cuddling, soothing, and just taking things at their pace.
WHAT THESE SESSIONS REALLY LOOK LIKE
They’re not rigid or overly posed.
They’re gentle, guided, and focused on connection.
Lots of holding.
Lots of closeness.
Lots of in-between moments you might not even realise are happening at the time.
You don’t need your baby to be “easy” for a beautiful session.
You just need to show up as you are.
That’s more than enough.
