One day these photos will mean more than you could ever imagine.

The sleepy newborn curled in your arms.
The toddler who still reaches for your hand.
The gap-toothed grin.
The way your family fits together right now.

These are the ordinary things that change while you’re busy living them everyday.

I photograph them so you can come back to this version of your family whenever you need to.

A young boy smiles gently while cradling a sleeping newborn baby wrapped in a white blanket. Captured by a skilled Family and Newborn Photographer Melbourne West, both rest on a soft, white surface, cherishing this precious moment.
A man stands on grass at sunset, joyfully tossing a small child into the air. A black dog jumps beside them, while trees and a clear sky create a peaceful backdrop—captured beautifully by a Melbourne family photographer.

Real life welcome here

Your family doesn’t need to perform for my camera.

Kids can be shy, wild, clingy, curious, full of beans or completely uninterested in whatever I had planned.

You don’t need to know how to pose either. I’ll give you enough direction that you never have to wonder what to do, without turning your family into something stiff or staged.

After more than 15 years photographing families, I know when to give a little direction, when to make a game of it and when to let things unfold.

You bring your people. I’ll take care of the rest.

THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A
PHOTO SESSION.

The photos are the reason you’re here.

But you shouldn’t have to figure out all the other stuff on your own.

01

THE LITTLE DECISIONS ARE ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF.

What to wear, where to go, what time will work best and what you actually need to bring.

You’ll have access to my studio wardrobe, locations I already know photograph beautifully, and plenty of help before your session so you’re never left trying to work it all out yourself.

02

YOU GET TO SEE YOUR PHOTOS PROPERLY.

A few days after your session, you’ll come back to the studio and see your photographs for the first time.

We’ll go through them together, narrow down the ones you genuinely love.

No deciding how many photographs you want before you’ve even seen them. No trying to compare 100 tiny thumbnails on your phone.

You get to see them first.

03

THEN WE MAKE SOMETHING OF THEM.

Once you’ve chosen your favourites, I’ll help you work out what you’d love to do with them.

That might mean a collection of digital photographs, something beautiful for your walls, an album to pull from the shelf again and again, or a combination of all three.

Because these photographs deserve better than disappearing into another folder on your phone.

Hi, I’m Britt

Photographer, professional snack-holder, baby cuddler and expert at getting dads who hate photos to relax.

For more than 15 years, I’ve photographed Melbourne families through pregnancies, newborn days and growing childhoods.

I want the experience to feel just as genuine as the photographs do, which probably explains why so many of my families come back again and again as their kids grow.

Newborn Photography Studio in Altona Meadows

Tucked away in Melbourne’s west, my newborn studio in Altona Meadows is designed to feel calm, warm, and unhurried the moment you walk in. Everything is prepared for you before you arrive, so there’s no rushing, no stress, and no need to bring anything other than your baby.

This is where those early days are documented slowly and safely – with soft natural tones, gentle posing, and plenty of time for feeding, settling, and cuddles in between.

Families looking for a newborn photography studio in Melbourne’s west often tell me they love having a dedicated space close to home, especially during those first few weeks when leaving the house can feel like a big outing.

Outdoor Family Photography Across Melbourne’s West

For families who love something a little more relaxed and natural, outdoor sessions are held across carefully chosen locations in Melbourne’s west. These sessions are light, playful, and focused on connection rather than perfect posing.

I’ve spent years testing locations across Melbourne’s west and know exactly where to find beautiful light, open space for little ones to explore, and spots that are easy to access with young children in tow.

Whether it’s Werribee, Williamstown, Altona, or surrounding suburbs, I’ll guide you through locations that suit your family and the feel you’re after, so the experience feels easy from start to finish.

– Want photographs that feel like their family.

IF THATS YOU…. YOUR’E IN THE RIGHT PLACE

My sessions have plenty of room for movement, cuddles, snack breaks, shy kids, wild kids and plans that change halfway through. I’ll guide you when you need it and step back when something better is happening naturally.

family and newborn PHOTOGRAPHY MELBOURNE

FAQ

How far in advance should we book?

Most families book 6–8 weeks in advance. Newborn sessions are often booked during pregnancy.

What if my children don’t cooperate?

They don’t need to. Sessions are relaxed and flexible, and I work with your family as you are.

Where are you located?

I’m a family and newborn photographer based in Altona Meadows, Melbourne’s west, just 17km from the CBD and easily accessible from across Melbourne.

Do you help with what to wear?

Yes – styling guidance is included, and there is also a curated studio wardrobe available.

Can grandparents be included?

Absolutely – family sessions can include extended family on request.

How long does a session take?

Sessions are relaxed and unhurried, typically allowing enough time for breaks, feeds, cuddles and natural interaction so everything feels easy and comfortable, but quick enough that no body loses interest.

Most sessions are between 45-90 minutes, with Newborn photography sessions taking a little longer to allow for unpredictability such as feeding, soothing, changing etc. Allow up to 2.5 hours for these.

Family and Newborn Photographer Based in Melbourne’s West, easily accessible from across MelbournE.

I’m based in Altona Meadows, just 17km from Melbourne’s CBD and close to major freeway access, making the studio easy to reach from across Melbourne.

I regularly photograph families from Melbourne’s western suburbs including Werribee, Point Cook, Williamstown, Newport and Yarraville, as well as families travelling from all across Melbourne who are looking for a relaxed, guided photography experience.

Whether you’re local or travelling in, sessions are designed to feel calm, unhurried and completely worth the time away from everyday life.

If you’ve been meaning to do this for years, maybe this is your sign.

Especially if you’re usually the one behind the camera.

You don’t need a milestone, perfect timing or a reason bigger than wanting to remember your family exactly as they are right now.

A quick note about availability

Sessions are booked around 6 – 8 weeks in advance, as I intentionally photograph a limited number of families each month so every gallery receives the time, care and attention it deserves.

Newborn sessions are often booked months before baby arrives.

If you’re expecting, I recommend getting in touch during your second trimester to reserve space around your due date. Don’t worry if baby arrives early or late – I’ll adjust your session date accordingly.
