THIS IS YOUR FAMILY, RIGHT NOW.

The missing teeth.
The scraped knees.
The way they still reach for your hand.
The ridiculous laugh you hear twenty times a day.
The way siblings wind each other up and then curl up together five minutes later.

These are the things that make your family feel like yours.

Family photographs don’t need to wait for a milestone, a birthday, or some perfectly timed stage.

Sometimes you just want photographs of all of you together, exactly as you are right now.

That’s reason enough.

Real life welcome here

Your family doesn’t need to perform for my camera.

Kids can be shy, wild, clingy, curious, full of beans or completely uninterested in whatever I had planned.

They can need a minute to warm up. They can run off halfway through. They can decide the studio furniture is far more interesting than me.

You don’t need to know how to pose either. I’ll give you enough direction that you never have to wonder what to do, without turning your family into something stiff or staged.

After more than 15 years photographing families, I know when to give a little direction, when to make a game of it and when to let things unfold.

You bring your people. I’ll take care of the rest.

STUDIO SESSIONS

A smiling family of four sits on the floor, enjoying playful moments during our Fathers Day mini sessions. The mother holds a baby while the father holds a laughing toddler upside down, with bright natural light and a green plant in the background.

Held in my natural-light studio in Altona Meadows.

Studio sessions are relaxed, comfortable and beautifully simple, with everything you need already here.

They’re especially lovely for younger children, smaller families, or anyone who loves a clean, timeless look without having to worry about the weather.

OUTDOOR SESSIONS

SM 0299

Held at one of my carefully chosen locations across Melbourne’s west, around an hour before sunset.

Outdoor sessions give kids a little more room to move, run and explore, with plenty of space for natural interaction and bigger family moments.

I’ll help you choose a location that suits your family, the season and the kind of photographs you’re drawn to, so you don’t need to figure that part out yourself.

As a family photographer in Melbourne for over 15 years, my focus is always on creating an experience that feels easy, natural and genuinely enjoyable.

What makes my family sessions different

PEARL 05 Copy

Most family photo sessions focus on getting children to look at the camera.

Mine focus on getting families to connect.

Rather than asking children to sit still and smile for an hour, I build sessions around movement, play, conversation and genuine interaction.

The result is a gallery that feels less like a photo shoot and more like a snapshot of your family as they are right now.

Messy hair.

Big personalities.

Belly laughs.

Tight cuddles.

The things you’ll miss most one day.

You know this experience is for you if:

– You’ve been meaning to organise family photos for years but keep putting it off.

– You want natural-looking photographs, but still want guidance.

– You’re worried your kids won’t sit still long enough.

– Your partner isn’t exactly excited about being photographed.

– You want photographs that feel genuine rather than overly posed.

– You value quality over quantity.

– You want photographs that deserve a place on your walls, not just your phone.

here’s What you can expect

From the moment you book, I’ll guide you through every step.

You’ll receive everything you need to prepare for your session, including styling advice, location guidance and tips to help everyone feel relaxed before the day arrives.

Family photography sessions take place either in my Altona Meadows studio or at one of my favourite outdoor locations across Melbourne’s west.

Whether we’re indoors or chasing golden light outdoors, the goal is always the same:

Creating photographs that feel like your family.

A family of six, including two adults and four children, walks together through a grassy field at sunset—a warm, peaceful moment that highlights one of the best photography session locations. The sky is mostly clear with a few gentle clouds overhead.
A boy and a girl stand on a large rock in a grassy area near the sea, laughing together under a clear blue sky during sunset—a perfect spot for memorable photography session locations.
A family of six sits and stands together on a blanket-covered rock in a sunlit field, smiling and hugging each other. Perfect for outdoor family photography williamstown beach, with tall grass and a golden sky at sunset.

SESSION DAY

This isn’t a “stand there and smile” kind of session.

I’ll guide you throughout the entire experience.

I’ll tell you where to stand.

Prompt natural interaction.

And then I’ll step back.

Because the photographs you’ll treasure most usually happen in the in-between moments.

The cuddles. The laughter. The chaos. The way your child wraps their arms around your neck when nobody told them to.

We’ll capture a beautiful mix of family portraits, sibling photographs and genuine moments that tell the story of this chapter in your family’s life.

What you’ll walk away with

Your family session isn’t just about taking photos.

It’s about preserving the version of your family that exists right now.

You’ll receive a carefully curated gallery that may include:

  • Genuine family connection and interaction
  • Beautiful sibling relationships
  • Natural portraits of each child
  • Relaxed family photographs together

Photographs that feel like your family, not a performance.

The moments you’ll want to remember years from now.

CHOOSING YOUR IMAGES

In the days after your session, you’ll be invited back to the studio to see your photographs for the first time.

We’ll sit down together and view the very best images from your session.

This is where you’ll choose your favourite photographs and decide how you’d like to enjoy them.

Whether that’s digital images, framed artwork, albums or keepsakes for your home.

Watching families see moments they didn’t even realise were being captured never gets old.

Family PHOTOGRAPHY MELBOURNE

FAQ

When is the best time to book family photos?

Most families book several months ahead, particularly for autumn and spring sessions.

If you’ve been thinking about organising family photographs this year, now is a great time to get in touch.

Where do sessions take place?

You can choose between my Altona Meadows studio or one of several beautiful outdoor locations throughout Melbourne’s west.

I’ve spent the last 15 years photographing families throughout Melbourne’s west and have a handful of tried-and-tested locations that photograph beautifully year-round.

What should we wear?

You’ll receive styling guidance before your session and access to my studio wardrobe, making outfit planning simple and stress-free.

What if my partner hates having photos taken?

They’re in very good company.

Many partners arrive feeling unsure about the experience and leave saying it wasn’t nearly as bad as they expected.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?

I promise you won’t be the first family to worry about this.

Children don’t need to sit still, smile on command or behave perfectly to create beautiful photographs.

Some of the most meaningful images happen in the moments in between.

How long does a family photography session take?

Most family sessions last around 45-90 minutes, depending on the ages of the children and whether we’re photographing in the studio or outdoors.

The goal is never to keep children engaged for as long as possible.

The goal is to create beautiful photographs before anyone gets tired of having their photo taken.

Do you photograph extended family sessions?

Absolutely – family sessions can include extended family on request.

READY TO BOOK?

The years tend to pass faster than any of us expect.

If you’ve been meaning to organise family photos but haven’t quite got around to it yet, consider this your sign.

I’d love to help you create something meaningful.

Based in Melbourne’s West, photographed by families across Melbourne

I’m based in Altona Meadows, 17km from Melbourne’s CBD and close to major freeway access, making it easy for families to visit from right across Melbourne.

I regularly photograph families from Melbourne’s western suburbs including Werribee, Point Cook, Williamstown, Newport and Yarraville, as well as families who travel from other parts of Melbourne for a relaxed, connection-led session.

Many families return year after year, turning their session into a familiar part of their family story – no matter where they’re coming from.

Whether you’re based in Melbourne’s west or travelling from elsewhere across Melbourne, sessions are designed to feel relaxed, easy and completely worth the effort of getting everyone out the door.

If you’ve been meaning to do this for years, YOU DON’T NEED A BIGGER REASON.

Especially if you’re usually the one behind the camera.

You don’t need a milestone or perfect timing.

Wanting to remember your family exactly as they are right now is reason enough.
